Having moved myself over to a new country, subsequently moved into a new apartment and generally spent a lot of time during the past few months feeling a bit busy and frantic, my stress levels have been – I admit it – slightly higher than usual. And when there’s so much going on and so much to do, all the time, it sometimes never really feels like you can switch off. Ever.

Well, after a few weeks of all this craziness, my brain was tired. Really tired. And I realised that enough was enough – I needed to allot a bit of time to myself to just chill and breathe and take some time to not really think about anything. The bath tub was prepped, some crisps were purchased, some fizzy water poured, some Dance Moms set to play and a Lush bath bomb was dropped into the water and as soon as I sank myself into the water – being incredibly careful not to slosh bath bomb water onto my crisps – I felt a huge portion of that tension just ebb away and start to fade.

Granted, not all of it, but enough that I’ve felt a whole heap more human in the past 48 hours than I had done for the rest of the previous week! Despite the impending #snowmageddon storms!

And it got me to thinking, wouldn’t it be nice to have a reserve of relaxation ideas to hand – just in case I don’t happen to be near a bath or in a place that offers a selection of Lush bath bombs always. That, lovely readers, is where you come in. I would love to hear your tips and tricks for a good dose of relaxation and calm.   1. I am the same as you! Baths are my favorite but I also do love getting wrapped up in a good book to escape reality for a bit!

    Two words. Electric blanket. It has been such a blessing to me this year with all my aches and pains from the brutally cold weather. Such a good investment and puts me right to sleep at night.

    I like watching kids movies in bed with the fairy lights on and lots of pillows and blankets. And swimming too, especially in the sea. 🙂

    Baths are good, I really enjoy cooking my favourite foods to focus my mind. You could always try tai chi as well.
