I’ve been lucky enough to pick up some seriously superb samples recently – thanks in large part to all of my Sephora sprees – and have had a chance to test out both some new brands that I’m not really that familiar with, and some new products from some much-loved brands that I’ve never had the chance to try.
Peter Thomas Roth is one brand in particular that I’ve been wanting to test out for months, but I’ve never had the courage to just pick up a product and give it a go. So to test out a couple of the brand’s signature products, without needing to shell out loads of monies has been great. And both the Cucumber Gel Mask and the Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel have already proved to be great representations of the brand.
The Cleansing Gel is full to the brim with AHAs which help to leave my skin feeling so smooth, while giving a big boost of radiance to my complexion. Add to that the soothing hydration of the Gel Mask and you’ve got a dream duo that works wonders on your face.
Then there’s Living Proof, another brand that I’ve heard so many brilliant things about, but have never taken the time to try it out for myself. Well now it’s on the tip top of my must-buy haircare list thanks to the brilliant 5-in-1 Styling Treatment. Now, I’m not really a big hair ‘styler’ – I tend to rely on one of three very basic styles each and every day, mainly out of laziness – but this product does so much more than just helping to perfect your hairstyle. At least when it came to my hair.
After smoothing it along the mid-to-end lengths, my hair was completely frizz-free, smooth, soft and oh-so shiny. But not in a fake Pantene swish swish way, more in a healthy, happy brilliant kind of way. And, topped up with the Prime Style Extender, you’re guaranteed to have the most beautiful barnet all. day. long.
Last up is a new (to me) product from one of my all-time favourite skincare brands, First Aid Beauty. If you’re a big fan of the brand, you’ll doubtless have heard of the Ultra Repair Cream, which is one of First Aid Beauty’s most popular products. And I admit, I’d heard a lot about it too, but was always worried that the super thick and nourishing formula would be too much for my acne-prone skin. However, after a few months of living in the freezing New York weather, my skincare needs have changed somewhat, and this stuff has been a real lifesaver when it comes to soothing and hydrating my wind-beaten complexion.
Now the only question is – how do I resist the temptation of buying all the full sizes…?!
