The time has arrived ladies and gentlemen, today I am moving my way into my first New York City apartment – and I could not be more excited about it.

For those of you that don’t know, I’ve spent the past couple of months living with family in Connecticut – thanks for having me guys! – while I’ve been on the hunt for a place in the city and at last, I found that perfect place and I’m ready to move on in.

It’s been a bit of an interesting process getting ready for the big move; while I had all the basic necessities back in the UK – from a duvet and pillows to towels and a drying rack – I wasn’t really able to bring all of that out here with me, so I’ve spent the past few days, weeks, months trawling through interiors websites trying to pick out the perfect products.

I’m going for a bit of a charcoal grey theme, so my bookmarks bar is currently full of bits and pieces that I’ve found which fit that rather narrow colour palette and, while I’ve managed to scoop up all the basics – my chevron-patterned laundry basket might just be my favourite! – I’m looking forward to picking up a few more decorative items that I’m hoping will help the place to feel a bit more like home.

Now all  that stands in the way of me and my domestic bliss? Getting all my stuff up to the sixth floor of my new building… Wish me luck!

That is a beautiful picture! Good luck with getting settled in and finding the right things to make your place feel at home.

  2. I’m belated but I hope everything fell into place quickly! Wish you a lot of great moment here in NYC. I’m moving in a couple of weeks in the opposite directions :)) Greetings
