This time of year is all about fantastic fragrances and scents – so much more so than any other season I think, don’t you?
I spent most of the cold winter months burning my way through a whole heap of candles, dousing myself in warming, spicy scents and lathering up a storm with fresh and fragrant wintry smells.
Candle-wise, I just think they help to add such a wonderful warmth to a room – creating a warm glow, while scenting the air with some super scents. And when it comes to candles, particularly at this time of year, I don’t really tend to look any further than Bath and Body Works‘ three-wick offerings.
These bad boys create such an incredible scent and the smell tends to linger for hours, even after they have been put out. This year, Holiday Wish, which is a more traditional festive fragrance, all cinnamon, cranberry and a bit of clove, and Fresh Balsam, essentially all your Christmas tree fragrance dreams come true, have been my preferred candles of choice.
Bath and Body Works has also dominated my preferred shower scents this year; I can’t get enough of the fresh and energising scent of Twisted Peppermint, while Winter Candy Apple has also played a pretty key role during the past few months.
The Body Shop also have some pretty delightful limited edition festive fragrances on offer; Frosted Cranberry is my particular favourite and the shimmer lotion also helps to add some lovely Christmassy sparkle. Nothing wrong with a bit of shimmer during the festive season, huh?
Last but not least is a perfume that I have spoken about countless times before – and is one of the only things on this list that is available all the year round. Diptyque Eau Duelle is such a beautiful warm and spicy scent, with a subtle – but not too sweet – hint of honeyed vanilla. It’s pretty much the only scent I wear at this time of year, and I don’t see that changing any time soon.
