I won’t lie to you – there is a lot of beauty brilliance going on here in the ole US of A. Every time I’ve walked into a Walgreens (think of it kind of like Boots…) or a Target (more on that fun later), I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of choice and the number of new and exciting products.

But after arriving in the US, there was just one product in particular that I was seriously eager to lay my hands on: the Nyx Butter Gloss ($5)I don’t know what it is about this lip gloss, but I have been so desperate to try it for such a long time that when I spotted a Nyx counter during my first ever Target trip, I went a bit mad. Sadly others seem to have had the same idea because almost all of my most lusted-after colours were gone. Sob.

Thankfully, I managed to scoop up one – Praline, a natural dusty pink which looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself! Formula-wise, the gloss is as great as promised. Lightweight, non-sticky, pigmented, smooth and nourishing. Everything I look for in a lip gloss.

The one drawback, in my opinion, is the slightly overly sickly sweet scent. It might not bother a lot of you, but I find it a tad overwhelming each time I open the bottle. But, it fades pretty quickly so luckily not a major enough problem to put me off the rest of the product’s brilliant qualities.

Now to find somewhere with a larger stock of colours…
