Well hello there end of July, where on earth did you come from?! I’m sure I say this every month but holy moly has July sped by in one big blur. So much so that when it came to picking my favourites, I really struggled to pick out the products that I’ve been enjoying the most this month – mainly because I couldn’t believe that more than a couple of July days had passed. Just me?
One quick flick through my diary later however and I am ready to roll with a pretty great line-up of beauty and non-beauty monthly marvels. We’ll kick off with a fun fruity favourite in the form of The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver (£15), which is a really lightweight skin-smoothing serum which feels fabulous and adds a good ole dose of radiance to your complexion.
Moving on to make up, my favourite favourite (is that a thing?) is without a doubt the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara (£19.50). This does such brilliant things to my eyelashes, both in terms of curl and volume, but doesn’t flake, clump or smudge. It’s just an all-around over-achiever, so much so that I’ve already got a second tube ready to replace this one when it runs out. Similarly the Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Make Up Setting Spray (£20) has been one of the most-used items in my beauty arsenal this month and I wasted no time in ordering a full-size version as soon as I felt this sample hit the halfway mark. It makes my make up last for hours longer than usual, doesn’t make my face sticky or tacky and doesn’t feel at all heavy on the skin.
The next double act has been essential when it’s come to batting my blemishes this month – the L’Oreal True Match Concealer (£6.99) coupled with the Zoeva Concealer Buffer (€6.80) leaves my face looking practically spot-free (which sadly, it isn’t) without any cakey-ness. The brush blends the concealer beautifully and seamlessly and leaves my face looking about as flawless as it’s ever going to…!
We’ll finish off this month’s marvels round-up with a couple of non-beauty favourites. My new plant – it’s a baby succulent – which I picked up at the garden centre on Sunday (garden centres are so fun! Who knew!?) is currently perched happily on my dining room table and makes me oh-so happy every time I look at it. It’s fresh and green and brings a bit of summer greenery inside the house. And while the plant takes care of the visuals, the Bath and Body Works Honeysuckle Candle ($22.50) has the fragrance side of things sorted. It’s so fresh and floral with a slight honey undertone and I am hooked. Goodness knows what I am going to do with it runs out…
Last up is a long-time favourite, the Starbucks Oprah Chai Tea ($14.95). Truth be told it drives me crazy that you can’t get this chai variety in the UK at the moment. It’s a million times better than the normal chai and when mixed with coconut milk creates one of the best. drinks. ever.
I hope you’ve all had a cracking July – and here’s to August!
