Handbag2

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the newest addition to my handbag collection, the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MACNow ordinarily, I avoid bags this teeny because I like to carry round a lot of stuff. For those ‘just in case’ situations that crop every now and then! But in this case I was willing to make an exception, for a number of reasons. First of all, the bag was just too pretty to pass up, secondly, it’s about time I started learning to pack a bit lighter and thirdly, it’s actually a lot roomier than it looks.

Now I’m not saying that this streamlined packing routine is going to come into play every day, but on those occasions when I want a bit of a lighter load, I think I’ve managed to find the perfect compromise in terms of how much stuff I can fit into the bag – and how much stuff I actually need.

In order to optimise the small amount of space available, I’ve traded my normal chunky wallet for a more slimline Balenciaga purse, which I love. Add to that my iPhone in its snazzy new ‘Chanel’ case and my on-the-go charger (I use a Juice Cube) and I’ve got the bare essentials covered.

When it comes to make up however, that’s where I hit a wall in terms of the streamlining. I hate the idea of being out and about and suffering some kind of make up disaster that I can’t fix. Sounds silly I know, but that’s the organisational lunatic inside me rearing her ugly head…! Settling for some serious basics, I opted for mascara – Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endlessa great lengthening formula that also adds a good amount of volume – a multi-purpose eye stick – Kiko Eyeshadow Sticka budget-friendly alternative to the By Terry Ombre Blackstars – lip gloss – Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss – a stick-free, nourishing formula – and perfume – Diptyque Eau Duelle in my Travalo, one of my all-time favourite fragrances that works beautifully on the skin no matter where you are or what you’re doing.

Last but not least, a few less glamorous essentials – mirror, check, eyedrops, check and lip balm, check.

All packed and ready to go without a bulging, overfilled bag in sight *pats self on back*

  1. I change my purses all the time nothing ever seems to be big enough.

That is a gorgeous phone case! Good for you for only bringing the basics. I always seem to have more lip products than I need. It’s like they multiply!

absolutely love the phone case! x
