Drugstore1

Drugstore2

That’s right y’all, another day, another New York beauty haul instalment. But I promise, we’re nearly done! And this time around we’ve made a move away from Sephora in favour of drugstores like Duane Reade, Walgreens and CVS.

To be honest, I found myself feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the choices available in the US drugstores. There was just so much variety; hundreds of products that I’ve never seen or heard about and it was seriously tricky not to just throw it all in basket and be done with it. But, thanks to some serious self control *pats self on back* and a small lack of finances (thanks a lot Sephora), I managed to remain pretty restrained.

Kicking off with the only two non-make up items on the list, one of my first purchases was the Gillette Venus Snap Razor, an oh-so dinky version of my favourite razor which comes complete with a full-size head and handy case making it the ideal option for travelling. Much like the Vaseline Mini Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butteran incredibly teeny weeny pot of Vaseline which won me over with its super sweet size.

After being caught out in a sudden downpour, I found myself stuck with the majority of my make up washed off my face – good – and none available in my bag to touch up. I ran into Duane Reade for a quick pick-me-up in the shape of the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundationan ace formula that managed to withstand the rain, the humidity and everything else in between. And it worked even better when topped off with the Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder which helped to keep my make up in place, while tackling any unwanted shine.

To add a bit of a glow to the whole package, I picked up the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Powder because who doesn’t need a bit of a lift every now and then? Particularly when it comes in such a pretty package – hearts and all. It seems I was in the mood for a bit of pretty and pink because I also swooped on the Wet n Wild Color Icon Collection Eyeshadow Trio in Sweet As Candya pinky neutral toned collection of three eyeshadows that looks just beautiful and oh-so natural.

Eyeshadow number two on the list was the L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Eye Shadow in Amber Rush, which has been on my wishlist for ruddy months. As have the Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Colours which are just. so. brilliant. So brilliant in fact that I picked up not one, but two of ’em – and frankly I would have come home with a lot more if they hadn’t all been sold out almost everywhere I looked. But I’m thrilled with the colours I got and will no doubt find another way to pick up a couple more as soon as possible.

So, there you have it, haul number three. Just one more to go…

  2. Wow, you did so well in restraining yourself! I doubt I’ll be able to do that.
