I’m a bit of a floozy when it comes to my contact lenses and in the past year or so haven’t really bothered with them at all, preferring instead to rely on one of my (numerous) pairs of glasses. But after nearly breaking several pairs thanks to dropping them on the floor, tipping them out of my bag or accidentally sitting on them I decided it was time to go back to lenses for a bit.

When it came to choosing which type I was going to opt for, I thought about all of the things that I wanted from them:

* I’m a bit of a disorganised mess at time so best to opt for dailies over monthlies so I don’t risk losing them/breaking them

* I have really dry eyes naturally so wanted contacts that were specifically targeted at drier eyes

* And I wanted to make sure that they were comfortable – not too hard and unforgiving but soft and easy to put in

In the end I opted for the 1 Day Acuvue Moist for AstigmatismHaving read a ton of reviews, these seemed like the best option for me – they are incredibly soft and comfortable, don’t dry out my eyes too much and are extremely easy to put in, even for someone as uncoordinated as me.

When it comes to actually using my contacts, I try not to wear them every day of the week – I find that if I do, my eyes get incredibly dry – and I like to make sure I have a stash of eye drops on hand just in case. In terms of putting them in, it can be a bit finicky to start with and I would suggest that you head to your optician for a quick lesson before you try it for the first time. Then, just make sure your hands are clean and dry and your eyes are clear of any make up and away you go. Easy peasy. Ish.

So what do you guys think? Contacts or glasses or both?

  1. I use the exact same contacts! I battle dry eyes too and it doesn’t help that the building I work in is extremely dry.
