By now y’all must have realised just how much I love neutral eyeshadow palettes – I basically collect them – but recently I’ve been lured away from my beloved multi-shade palettes in favour of the more simple single shade shadows that have been dominating the drugstore beauty aisles. Brands from Revlon to Rimmel to Maybelline and back again have been producing some incredible shades that give the high end palettes a run for their money.
A few of my favourites include, old faithfuls like the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze and the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte and newbies like the Maybelline Expertwear Eyeshadow Single in Silken Taupe – a great dupe for Burberry’s Pale Barley – and the L’Oreal Color Riche Mono Eyeshadows – so many beautiful shades, you need to check them out. There are so many incredible options out there for the single shadow fan. Plus there are a lot of advantages to this single shadow revolution too. Not only can you fit them into your handbag quickly and easily, but they also cost a lot less than the average palette, giving you a chance to experiment with those colours that you really like, rather than picking out a whole selection of shades when you might not be too keen on all of them.
While I’ll always love my palettes, I’m very much enjoying this single shadow phase of my beauty life right now – I’ve not even thought about purchasing a new palette the whole time I’ve been in New York. How’s that for a revolution…?
