I haven’t done one of these in a while, but this week I bring you a pretty special beauty bag from my beautiful friend Emma, who just happens to be my NYC travel buddy. Emma – known to many as Bems – is a fashion blogger and budding lawyer and we have been friends for an amazingly long time.

We’ve known each other since those awkward school days and have experimented with all manner of make up and beauty bits in the years since, from bright blue eyeliner (me) to awfully orange foundation (her). Needless to say, we know each other’s beauty habits pretty well – and now, you can too…

Emma’s beauty bag:

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Cream – I like this because it evens out my skin tone and it has SPF in it. It’s also really moisturising on my skin.

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Skin Perfecting Concealer – This was actually a recommendation from Charlie! I can use it by itself or with my BB cream and it lasts for ages, which is great.

Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation SPF 15 and Lily Lolo Super Kabuki Brush – This is another product that I can use by itself or with my other base products. It gives me buildable coverage and helps to get rid of shine. Plus it stays on my skin all day.

Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Brown – This is twist-up which means you don’t have to sharpen it which is really handy. It’s waterproof so works well on my waterline.

Maybelline Master Smoky Long-Wearing Shadow Pencil – I use this for my cat-eye flick and it comes with a smudger which I use all over my eyes to create a smoky eye.

Diorshow Iconic Over Curl Mascara in Brown – The curved brush fits my eye shape well. It’s also seriously waterproof – I’ve even tested it in the pool while we’ve been here. No matter how many other mascaras I try, I always go back to Dior. Which is why I also use…

Diorshow Waterproof in Black – This has a massive brush which adds a lot of volume to my lashes. It’s another waterproof one which lasts, even in the shower!

Barry M Bold Black Waterproof Eyeliner – This is quite new but I’ve tried it a couple of times on my waterline. I had a similar Lancome one which ran out and I’m happy to have found a cheaper option!

Rimmel Waterproof Gel Eyeliner and MAC 266 Brush – I also use this for a cat-eye flick. It lasts all day which is great for nights out.

Benefit High Beam – I like this because it works well with my paler skin tone. It’s subtle but gives a really pretty sheen which is great for highlighting.

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow – This is quite new; I wanted something pink and shimmery to use as a blusher but also to give my skin a bit of a glow. If I don’t use this then I turn to my…

Shiseido The Makeup Multi-Shade Enhancer in Terracota Glow – I use this in the summer because it’s more of a bronze shade. I use it as a blusher and also to contour. It’s really warming on my face and looks so nice when I’ve got a bit more of a tan.

Dior Addict Lipstick in Blush – I like this because it’s moisturising, it enhances my lips – a your lips but better shade. It’s natural-looking so I can wear it during the day or at night.

Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water – I spray this on after I’ve applied all my make up; it helps to sort out any dry patches and also helps to set my make up and leave it looking really fresh.
