Is it just me, or have drugstore beauty brands really stepped up their game in the past year? The variety available at the moment is just ace and a lot of brands like Revlon, Maybelline and Rimmel – to name but a few – are actually giving the more high end beauty brands a run for their money.
Revlon’s latest releases are the perfect example of all the brilliance currently available from the more budget-friendly beauty brands. Both offer ace results, feel like really great quality but cost a fraction of the price of their high end counter parts. First up, in the spirit of embracing my brows, I picked up the Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Blonde, a double-ended brow product which has a pencil and a gel. This comes in three shades; dark blonde is the lightest and works perfectly with my brows. Both the pencil and the gel apply really well and can be used together or on their own, depending on what look you’re going for. Plus they both stick around for the best part of the day so you won’t be left with an awkward eyebrow on your cheek type situation. Nobody wants that.
Sticking with the eyes, the Revlon Photoready Eye Primer and Brightener has been an absolute dream when it comes to perking up my peepers, while prepping them for concealer and eyeshadow. While not a concealer in itself, it works to highlight and brighten the under eye area and works beautifully under your concealer or under your eyeshadow. It’s really lightweight, doesn’t leave any tackiness and generally feels pretty ruddy lovely.
Any other budget make up magic I should keep my eye out for?
