Clinique1

I popped home to see the fam last weekend and – thanks to a manic day at work and a lack of organisation – completely forgot to pack any form of make up essentials. Luckily, I had a few old favourites stashed away at home, including Nars Laguna Bronzer and this foundation gem, the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup

Back in the day, I used this foundation religiously, but as my make up collection grew, I branched out to new and – I thought – improved things. What my quick foundation flashback proved however is that sometimes, your instincts really are right the first time around and I’m so grateful to have had a reminder of just how great this bad boy is.

Formula-wise, it is the perfect combination of a lightweight-feeling formula and great buildable coverage. In other words, while it will happily conceal any and all nasties – blemishes, bumps and redness – you won’t be able to feel it or see it sitting on your skin. Now I’m not so sure I can see obvious evidence of the blemish-fighting aspects of it, but the lightweight formula means it’s ideal for anyone who is suffering from oily or congested skin.

In other words, when it comes to bad skin days, this one is a real winner and has fast rocketed from long-forgotten former favourite to the top of the tip top list.

  2. This was my first foundation and I don’t think that I was able to really appreciate how magnificent it was at the time (or how generous my mom was for getting this for a thirteen year old). Definitely a winner. I should get another bottle just for old time’s sake.
