Last week I spend quite a lot time away from my flat and ended up feeling like a bit of a nomad, forever living out of my trusty backpack (always stylish). But despite all the moving around, I was determined to keep up with my skincare routine as much as possible and took a pretty ridonkulous amount of time ensuring that my skincare supplies were well-stocked and contained everything that I might need – without going too OTT in terms of how much I was bringing. Which is a lot trickier than you might think…

So here’s what I ended up with. For make-up removal and cleanser, I decanted some of my much-loved Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water into one of these sweet stripey Dorchester Collection travel bottles. I got given these as a gift but you can pick up similar ones in Muji if you’re eager to find some! I also threw in a sample size of the Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse which is one of my current favourite make up removers and leaves my face feeling so fresh and clean.

I also whacked a few squeezes of my Elemental Herbology Bio-Cellular Super Cleanse in to one of the travel bottles. The light gel formula is lovely and refreshing in the morning but can also be used to clean off all traces of make up after a day out too. Toner-wise, I opted for the Pixi Glow Tonic – I don’t think I can live without this bad boy, even for a few days – and also brought along my Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic in the spritz bottle for a dose of refreshing rehydration.

Moving on to treatments, I packed my favourite Ole Henriksen Fresh Start Eye Creme – so nourishing yet not at all greasy – my Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Serum – to smooth and nourish the skin – and my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] – a spot treatment is sadly always necessary with my skin. For moisturisers and oil, I popped in a sample of the REN Global Protection Day Cream for my day cream because it’s nice and lightweight, while for an overnight option I went with the REN Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil, a Caroline Hirons recommendation which works wonders for my skin overnight and leaves it feeling silky smooth and plump come morning.

So, there you have it. Not the most scaled-back selection, I admit, but it’s as slim-lined as it’s gonna get I think. Goodness knows how much I’ll be taking with me to New York…
