FiveFace1

FiveFace2I’m not good at minimalism. I always over pack, be it clothes or beauty products, and I have a pretty serious hoarding problem. So, as you can imagine, the idea of creating a make up look with just five products really didn’t appeal to me particularly. And yet somehow I could resist.

My base is usually the area of my face that I spend the most time on, so trimming this down to just one product was tricky to say the least. But really there was only ever one product that I could opt for, the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhacer, an incredibly pigmented base product that can be used either as an intensive concealer, or as a foundation. It takes a hella lotta blending, but once you’re done the look is pretty flawless.

Moving on to cheeks and another favourite multi-tasker, the Sleek Blush in Rose Gold. The great thing about this blush is the golden glow that it gives cheeks, allowing you to achieve a radiant complexion without needing highlighter. Then we come to eyes – surprisingly the area of the face that I dedicated the majority of products to.

The By Terry Ombré Blackstar in Bronze Moon was an easy choice. It’s just one of those products that wows every time, whether used all over the lid (as in this case), as a contour shade or brought under the eyes as a liner. It has incredible staying power and great colour payoff and is without a doubt one of my most-used products. Same with the Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara which does such wonderful things to my lashes, both in terms of curl and volume.

Last up, eyebrows, and my new Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil which helps to shape and define my brows. It’s a great product and as a result of finding it, I’m starting to enjoy embracing my brows a bit more.

So there you have it, my relatively bare face. And d’you know what? I kind of like it. This may not be the last you see of the five product get up…
