I’m getting quite into my pairings at the moment – from primer to perfume and now on to lip products. As I’ve become more confident about wearing bright, bold lips, I’ve started experimenting more and more with different ways to wear my favourite lip products and often pair two particular favourites in order achieve the perfect look.

Love a matte lip but don’t have the exact matte colour you want in your stash? No problem. Eager to sport something uber glossy but want a whack of colour too? Easy. There are so many options out there and I thought I’d share a few of my favourites.

First up, the matte lip gone glossy in the form of the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Backstage and the No 7 High Shine Lip Crayon in BerryNow I love the colour and the matte finish of the Revlon Suede Lipstick but there are times when I’m craving the colour and the deep pigment but want more of a glossy finish. Enter the No 7 option, which gives a sheer lick of colour and shine that gives the look a whole new angle.

In an exact reverse of that pairing, this next one sees one of my favourite lipsticks given a more matte edge. The MAC Lipstick in Plumful gives lips a great healthy sheen and a good lick of colour – the perfect berry shade – but when paired with the conditioning balm end of the L’Oreal 24hr Infallible Lip Colour it is given a great matte finish that makes it stand out that bit better on the lips. This pairing is perfect if you’re wanting to take your lip look from day to evening.

Last up is the glossiest – and most nourishing – pairing of the pack, the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Papaya combined with the uber glossy Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Gloss in Glorious GrapefruitPaired together, these two create the most beautiful peachy pink lip with a great hit of shine. Both products are incredibly nourishing on the lips and will leave your lips looking so healthy and happy.

A pucker up pairing for every occasion.
