It’s been a whole year since I started doing these posts – how time flies! – and there have been a massive heap of much-loved products featured but I actually think that this month’s are among some of my most favourite overall. A bold claim I know but each of the items in this monthly marvels mix has really wowed and impressed in a pretty big way.
So, without further ado, let’s crack on. Beginning with the beauty bits, as always, the first product on the list is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Hot Pepper. Now I harped on about how wonderful this product is not that long ago – in this post – so I won’t go over it all again now, save to say that this liquid lipstick is da bomb in formula, colour and finish. Just ruddy ace. Just like this second fond favourite, the Deborah Lippmann Flowers In Her Hair Nail Polish which has rocketed its way to poll position as my most-loved nail lacquer.
A more recent acquisition is the NYC Best of Broadway Eyeshadow Palette which has wowed me massively since I snapped it up a few weeks ago – particularly the taupe-y barley shade (the second one up). It’s just beautiful.
The last beauty bit is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. It’s not a product that I ever really saw myself using that much – I much prefer applying my foundation with a brush rather than a sponge – but when it comes to getting that perfectly-blended finish, that’s where this comes into its own. It just creates that amazingly-polished, flawless foundation look that you can’t always get from just a brush.
Moving on to a few fashionable items, my Michael Kors Turquoise Watch hasn’t left my wrist since I snapped it up. I love the turquoise face – I think it’s a bit of a unique take on the MK watches that a lot of people out there love and it does a great job of brightening up an outfit. When the sun makes one of its rare appearances, I turn to my new Claire’s Sunglasses – the geometrical shape is seriously flattering on my round face and they seem to go with pretty much every outfit I try ’em with. Now all I need is a bit more warm weather. Here’s to May!
