I’m a bit fickle when it comes to lip colour. One week I’ll be all about the bold lip, another week will see me opting for something sheer and occasionally I’ll go through an overly-bright phase. Most recently I’ve found myself leaning more and more towards the subtle pink lip – partly because it’s oh-so easy to pull off and party because there are some ruddy ace drugstore options out there at the moment that help to create that perfect pink smooch.

The first lip colour that I’ve found myself reaching for more and more is something of an odd one, for me that is, and it’s the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in FancyNow normally I’d have found this colour a little too shimmery – the pretty blue-toned nude-y pink has quite the frosted sheen to it – but I’m actually really liking a subtle slick of this on the ole lips to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to an everyday look. Plus the formula is unbelievably lovely – moisturising and super smooth to apply.

Shaking things up even more, on days when I’m really feeling out there, I’ve been adding an extra slick of the Maybelline ColorSensational Shine Gloss in Glorious GrapefruitIt adds a lovely peachy tint to the lipstick, as well as a lovely glossy shine. Used over lipstick or on its own, the formula is lovely to apply, it hangs around on the lips for a good few hours before needing to be re-applied and – my number one criteria for a gloss – it doesn’t have that hair-awkwardly-stuck-to-lip stickiness about it. Hurrah!

Last up we have something a bit new, at least to me – the L’Oreal Infallible 24Hour Lip Colour in Timeless RoseThis double-ended lip product has an amazingly-pigmented liquid lipstick on the one end – applies smoothly and hangs around for hours without budging a bit – and a clear mattifying balm on the other. Now it might sound weird, applying a balm over a liquid lipstick, but it really does work and the end result is a beautiful rosy pink lip that maintains that lovely colour all day long. Plus you can use the mattifying balm over all your other lipsticks if you fancy that matte finish. Ideal.

No doubt I’ll be back on the bold colours in no time at all but for now I’m very much enjoying building up my pretty in pink lip collection. Any other recommendations?

I’m also fickle when it comes to lipstick. I hardly ever stick to one unless I really like it! 🙂 You look super pretty! ❤
