Now this is probably something of an over-share – apologies if so – but I’ve had seriously dry lips recently, no doubt down to the beautifully sunny, yet windy, weather over the weekend. Luckily I have one of the most over-the-top lip product collections at home with something to treat almost every ailment you can imagine.
So for the past few days I’ve been indulging in a bit of a pout pamper – kicking off with the Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub to get rid of all those scaly flaky bits (gross, I know). It’s incredibly easy to use – you just whack it on, rub it around and then either lick it off (essentially it’s just sugar and oils) or rinse it off. Then I move on to something nice and soothing, which at the moment comes in the form of the Jurlique Rose Love Balm, a super gentle balm formula which nourishes and calms the lips. It feels really lightweight so it’s perfect to keep applying throughout the evening.
Just before bed, I hit the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, which is an incredibly luxurious and rich cream. The formula has been around for years on end – and for good reason because it really does work wonders on all manner of skin irritations. I slather a healthy layer of this on my lips just before bed and when I wake up they feel so much smoother and softer.
Last up, I always make sure that I carry around a lip balm in my bag – in fact I usually have three or four – and at the moment, my pot of choice is the Soap & Glory Great Kisser Peppermint Lip Balm. Now I know this is supposed to be a festive special but I just can’t get enough of the fresh minty scent and sweet humbug taste. Plus it helps to nourish my lips while leaving them with the most subtle of sheens, ideal for days when I don’t want to layer on the lippy. *Mwah*
