This time last week, I was boarding the Eurostar (for the first time ever!) ready to speed way to Paris for a quick overnight trip with a lovely group of ladies for the Claire’s Paris Fashion Week party.
With just over 24 hours to spend in the city, we were ready to cram in a whole heap of action and, after dropping our stuff off at the incredibly cool Mama Shelter Hotel, dashed off to take in the sights and sounds of Paris. First up, a trip to the Claire’s flagship store for a look around their newest collections and a quick drool over their ever-expanding ear cuff and midi-ring selection.
Then, we went street style spotting at Paris Fashion Week where I saw so many unbelievably stylish ladies and gentlemen strutting their way in between shows. The whole vibe was just so much more alive and exciting than anything I’ve ever experienced in London and I could have hung around for hours just watching all the people come and go. No rest for the wicked however and, after the speediest of stops, we headed to the Eiffel Tower to celebrate Pancake Day with a few Nutella crepes – delicious – before paying a visit to the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre.
Then it was back to the hotel for a quick change ready for the main event, the Claire’s Paris Fashion Week party. Packed to the brim with celebrity DJs, presenters and fashion bloggers, the party was a roaring success and I had such a fun evening hanging with the Claire’s team (plus my fellow Paris-trippers Lilah, Ashley and Toni) drinking cocktails and exploring Claire’s amazing Spring/Summer range.
After all that fun, the following morning was less than bright but was quickly improved by the hotel’s breakfast supplies. We spent out last few hours indulging in a French cooking class which was, if not informative, incredibly entertaining. Needless to say I won’t be making a career change any time soon…!
A quick bite to eat – paninis in the sunshine – and we were ready to head back to the Gare du Nord to catch the Eurostar back to London, and catch a few much-needed hours of sleep in the process! Despite the tiredness however, this trip was without a doubt 24 of the most enjoyable hours I have ever spent and I want to say a huge thank you to all of the lovely people that helped to make it so brilliant. Until next time belle Paris.
