Following on from yesterday’s pamper post, I wanted to share with you the beauty look that I plan to rock this Valentine’s Day. Now sadly due to some work commitments I have to work on the actual day of lurve – *bad girlfriend face* – but will be making up for it with a good old fashioned date night come Saturday and I thought it would be nice to make a bit of added effort.
So, I’ve turned to some of my most-loved base favourites – the MaxFactor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation and the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer – to create a natural, but subtly glowing, complexion. I followed this up with one of my favourite luxury products – if you can’t have a bit of high-end luxury on V-Day, when can you eh? – the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, which creates the perfect contour and highlight. Add to that my most romantic-looking beauty bit, the MAC Archie’s Girls Pearlmatte Face Powder in Flatter Me, which gives my face a beautiful peachy glow.
Moving onto the eyes, it’s the turn of another high-end favourite, the Charlotte Tilbury The Golden Goddess Eyeshadow Palette, which I use to shade my eyelids and the inner corners of my eye. Then it’s on to the Studio 10 I-Lift Longwear Eyeliner in Mocha, a handy double-ended eyeliner pencil which has a nude shade at one end – perfect for lining the water line for a nice eye-opening effect – and a deep dark brown on the other – ideal for lining the upper lid. For mascara, it’s the Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara – gives one hell of a boost to those lashes – and then a quick shaping up of the eyebrows with the Maybelline Master Brow Pencil in Blonde.
For a splash of Valentine’s red, I’ve got the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Kiss n Tell to line those lips, before I fill them in with the Revlon ColourBurst Lacquer Balm in Tease, a moisturising, long-lasting formula which nourishes lips while adding a big old boost of colour. With the Pixi Nail Polish slicked up on my nails, I’m ready to roll with all the romantic reds I need.
Last on the agenda is hair and fragrance. Some much-needed volume comes in the form of the Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce Texturising Spray, a bloody brilliant dupe for the uber-expensive Oribe Dry Texturising Spray. For fragrance, my V-Day pick is Diptyque’s Eau Duelle, a deep, rich and spicy vanilla scent which is perfect for a bit of romance. Add on some jewellery and my favourite sequin jacket and I’m ready to roll. V-Day romancin’ here I come.
