DesertIsland

I’m lucky enough to have a pretty impressive beauty stash to choose from every day when I go to do my make up. There are a lot of beautiful bits and pieces stored away in my arsenal – some of which are used every day, others I only bring out now and then – so choosing such a slimmed down selection of just five products, those five things that you would want with you if you were stranded on a desert island, was pretty darn tricky. Nevertheless, I forced myself to make a decision and I have to admit I’m pretty chuffed with the gems that I’ve been left with.

Base-wise, I plumped for the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Tinted Balma really versatile, very pigmented concealers meets foundation that can be used in an assortment of ways, for an assortment of reasons, making the perfect pick for a one-stop foundation option. The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Blissful is a brilliant blush option – it creates a natural pinky peach glow and lasts for hours on end. Just one swipe of the brush and you’re good to go all day long.

Another multi-purpose product up next, the KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in Golden Brown, which will serve both as a shadow and a liner for your eyes. Follow that up with a healthy dose of the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara – a firm favourite of mine for many a year now – and, last but not least, polish off the look with a quick slick of MAC Plumful Lipstick. This much-loved lippy has long-been a favourite, not least because of its beautiful plummy pink hue, and is always my go-to lip colour whenever I’m struggling to choose.

So, there you have it, my desert island make up products. Now if only we had the island style sunshine to go with ’em…
