Having been blessed with a bevy of amazing Christmas and birthday presents over the last six weeks, I’ve been able to bulk up my beauty supplies with a whole heap of new products (plus some brilliant non-beauty bits) recently, many of which have rocketed their way to the tip top of my favourites list in no time at all.

Starting with beauty products, I’ve fallen head over heels for the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation and its amazingly buildable, lightweight and long-lasting formula. It just fits my face perfectly and I haven’t really touched any of my other foundations since this landed in my stocks. I’ve been following this up with the unbelievably beautiful – as in, almost too pretty to use beautiful – Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow with accompanying Charlotte Tilbury Powder and Sculpt Brush, a beautiful contour and highlighting set that has the ability to carve cheekbones out of even the roundest faces (guilty).

Another brush that has been a firm staple for me recently is the Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder BrushA recommendation from Lily (AKA Lily Pebbles), it is the perfect size for applying blusher and adds the ideal amount of products to the apples of your cheeks in one quick sweep. The next product also comes very highly recommended by one of my favourite beauty bloggers, this time Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup, the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in DamnedThis beautiful purple-y mauve shade is seriously stunning and, despite being initially hesitant about the drying effect the matte pencils might have, I actually find the formula quite comfortable to wear day-to-day.

Last of this month’s beauty favourites is the Avene TriAcnéal Treatment Creaman incredibly effective spot treatment that has helped to blitz my blemishes, soothe redness and reduce scarring, all with just a daily overnight application.

Away from the beauty bits, I have two favourites to showcase this month, the Yankee Candle Spiced Orange Candle – sweet and spicy citrus goodness that warms the whole room whenever it’s burning – and the Martha Stewart for Staples Shawgreen Journal – my current favourite notebook and the one that I use to jot down all of my best blogging bits, from ideas to future posts and everything in between.

Here’s to surviving January y’all – we did it – and to a healthy happy February.

  1. I love Anna and Lily, they have great recommendations. You really can’t go wrong with a Nars lip pencil. My latest grab was Descando, the lightest I think I’ll ever need to go, soo lovely :3
