As well as being my birthday month – woo! – January is, for most, the ultimate budget month. What with post-Christmas and New Year spending issues plus a rather lengthy time between paydays, it usually ends up being the month when people find themselves needing to put the brakes on their spending.

However, if you guys are anything like me, cutting out spending altogether just ain’t that easy – particularly when it comes to beauty! So, rather than cutting out spending altogether, I’ve put together a collection of far more budget-friendly beauty buys that will make for wonderfully wallet-friendly treats any time you’re feeling a bit desperate to make a purchase.

First up, make up and nails. There are some ruddy ace budget beauty options out there at the moment that cover every aspect of your make up routine, from face base to nail lacquer. Base wise, my favourite drugstore combo of the moment is the Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer, which helps to give a beautiful natural glow to the face, while smoothing fine lines and blurring imperfections, and the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Foundation, which gives the most natural-looking dewy finish to skin. Glowing without being shiny and offering full coverage without feeling heavy.

Blush-wise, I’m a huge fan of the Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Coral Reef – it blends in smoothly and leaves an amazing natural flush. Add to that a quick swipe of the Soap & Glory Glow All Out and you’re left with the perfect glowing complexion.

Moving onto eyes, there are hundreds of amazing options out there, but my current favourites include the Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe and On & On Bronze and the Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Kajals, both of which have great colour pay-off and seriously impressive staying power, lasting throughout the day without creasing or smudging. I like to finish off with a slick of the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless, my favourite drugstore mascara, which is great for adding some serious volume and a bit of curl too.

For a bright lip colour that is as vibrant as it is moisturising, I turn to the Bourjois Colour Boost Lipsticks – they leave lips with a beautiful glossy colour that doesn’t dry or crack throughout the day.

Last but not least, my nails. As you may be able to imagine, I’m not short on supplies of drugstore polishes, but in my opinion some of the best of the bunch are the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Lychee and GrapefruitThe formula is, as the name would suggest, amazingly glossy and shiny and nails remain chip-free for days. Pretty impressive stuff from such a low cost polish.

What budget buys are you guys loving at the moment? Are you finding it hard to budget this month?
