The five best bits: spending New Year’s Eve in the company of some of my favourite people. We had a blast and a half and I can’t think of a better way to have started 2014 + capping off a fairly successful week at work having risen to a number of pretty tricky challenges + sticking to my water drinking resolution! I know we’re less than a week in but I really am impressed with myself *pats self on back* + starting off my five-year memory book. I’m four days in and already excited to look back at everything I was doing during this time + finally finishing unpacking after Christmas and New Year. It took me a while but I got there in the end. Hurrah

Beauty product pick of the week: pulling together my Best of Beauty 2013 posts helped me to rediscover some old favourites from throughout the year. In particular, the Sanctuary 2 Day Moisture Shower Oil. Hello silky smooth skin

On the agenda: generally just getting back into the swing of regular working life. Early mornings and late nights here we come

News flash: please take care over the next few days – there are supposedly more storms on the way and from the sounds of things, the weather is just going to get more dangerous. Batten down the hatches and be careful y’all

Pause for thought: I always feel so sad when Christmas comes to an end. No matter how hard I try, I get a stab of sadness every time I think about taking down my tree. But, in an attempt to preserve some of that Christmas spirit – I know, I’m such a cliche – I’m going to try and take forward into the coming seasons some of the most positive aspects of the holiday season such as spending more time with family, which I had to admit I’ve really enjoyed… And on the bright side, only 353 days to go until Christmas 2014!

  1. I really love this ‘memory a day’ book. I’ve seen them around and really wish I’d got one to start 2014. And I wish Christmas decs could be left up all year too – they look so pretty!

    1. They’re formatted in a way that would mean you could start it whenever you wanted I think. Although I know it’s nice to kick off the new one for a new year! x
