Due to the nature of my job, I end up hefting rather a large number of beauty products around with me on a day-to-day basis, just in case I end up having to head out somewhere fancy post-office and need to spruce up my face slightly. So when I laid eyes on this lovely palette from Laura Mercier – the Laura Mercier Colour-to-Go Portable Palette – I knew it was one for me.
The first thing that attracted me to this perfectly compact palette was the variety of products hidden away within such a seemingly small space. Blusher, bronzer, three eyeshadows – matte and shimmer – a cake eyeliner which can also be smudged out to offer more shading on the lid and a lip gloss. All are warm neutral tones and can be used to create an easily-wearable day or evening look.
As with all Laura Mercier products, the formulas are impeccable – the eyeshadows aren’t spectacularly pigmented but have a good colour pay-off all the same – and both the bronzer and the blusher go on smoothly and blend effortlessly into the skin leaving a warm and flattering glow. I’m also happy to report that the lip gloss is about as stick-free as can be meaning winter winds won’t cause havoc with a hair-meets-lip-gloss fiasco. Know what I mean?
All in all I’m pretty bowled over by this pretty little palette and I think it’s safe to say it has a permanent home in my handbag form here on out *insert awe at newly-found handbag space*
