While reaching the end of my beloved Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm was something of a traumatic experience – there may have been sobbing – it offered the ideal excuse for me to try out one of the newer balms on the block, the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.
It has to be said, I’m not the biggest fan of Clinique’s overall skincare range; there are some real gems hidden in there – such as this bad boy – but on the whole it’s not a brand that I automatically turn to for skincare products. Having cleansing balm guru (and all around skincare genius) Caroline Hirons waxing lyrical about this Clinique offering however, I knew I had to snap it up.
This stripped-back, no-nonsense, fragrance-free formula offers you everything you could ever really want from a cleansing balm. Its bizarre lard-like consistency melts down beautifully and, after just a minute or so of massaging it into skin, completely rids your face of all traces of make up.
In all honesty, I can’t fault this product at all; a rarity for someone as fussy as myself. Completely functional and full of only the most essential ingredients, this balm is the perfect fuss-free option, ideal for a quick and easy make up removal before bed. Simples.
