There is nothing more satisfying than a perfectly pretty palette that’s as beautiful to look at as it is to use and this latest limited edition collaboration from beauty brand Benefit and fashion designer Matthew Williamson fits that bill brilliantly.
Released in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Matthew’s eponymous brand, The Rich Is Back palette encapsulates all the fun and unique bohemian style that make Matthew’s designs so special. While I confess I was expecting *slightly* more colour variety within the palette, the product combination provided can be used in any number of ways to create quite a variety of looks, making it ideal for anyone on the go, or anyone who is looking for a go-to solution to their simple make up needs.
So, to break it down, the kit contains:
* Eyeshadow palette: Disco Dust, Solid Gold, Feel So Teal and Get Down Brown
* They’re Real Mascara
* Gimme Fever Cheek Powder and brush
* Lip Gloss in Inferno
The highly-pigmented eyeshadow palette contains a good variety of colours that can be used to create either a daytime or evening look – with an added pop of colour from the Feel So Teal shade for anyone wanting to do something a bit different.
Benefit’s They’re Real mascara is one of my all-time favourites and this mini version is perfect for popping in the ole handbag for any on-the-go applications. Cheek powder-wise, Gimme Fever adds a subtle, yet healthy-looking glow to cheeks and leaves your complexion with an uplifting boost – never a bad thing, particularly during an especially tiring day, week or month!
Last but not least, the Inferno lip gloss. Now, as y’all know, I’m not the biggest fan of lip gloss; I find the sticky quality just unbearable and I can’t stand it when a bluster or breeze leaves you with massive chunks of hair stuck to your glossed-up lips. URGH. That said, this Benefit offering ain’t half bad and falls fairly far high up the scale of bearable glosses, leaving a nice pop of colour without too much of an added gloop factor. Win.
What do you guys think of The Rich is Back palette? One for the shopping list?
