On Sunday, I spent a simply delightful afternoon celebrating the birthday of one of my nearest and dearest, the beautiful Bems.
Battling against the bitterly chilly winter weather, the eight of us trooped into central London to indulge in a decadent afternoon tea at Sketch.
Despite visiting Sketch on a number of occasions – not many of them very sober I admit – I’ve never had the chance to try the tea and what better excuse than a brilliant birthday celebration?
The full afternoon tea, which includes an enormous selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries, plus an unlimited supply of a wide variety of teas, costs £34 per person. On the expensive side perhaps but well worth the cost given how many delicious delights the tea offers.
From the amazingly Christmassy cinnamon macaroons to the incredible quadruple-layered cheese toastie, the tea was enough to thrill even the most discerning tea lover.
All in all, it was the perfect afternoon and, topped off with a (bloody freezing) stroll under the amazing Regent Street Christmas lights and a quick trip to Liberty’s, it made for the ideal end to the weekend.
