Last night saw London’s most popular shops come alive with the excitement of the Vogue-sponsored Fashion’s Night Out.
Held in anticipation of London Fashion Week – which is now just days away – this annual event brings together bloggers, fashion lovers, designers, journalists, PRs and freebie-hunters in a global celebration of all things fashion. Now in its fourth year, FNO has become a must-attend event in the fashion calendar (so much so that even the most un-trendy of people, like myself for example, are desperate to attend).
My decision to attend this year’s FNO was motivated by three things in particular: I had such a splendid time at last year’s event drinking endless supplies of free champagne it seemed a shame not to repeat the experience, it would be the perfect night out with an old friend who I hadn’t seen in ages and – possibly the most important – Mulberry was giving away goodie bags.
All in all it was a brilliant evening. While I’m sure I missed some of the night’s cooler parties – some of which require VIP guest list spots – the stores that I did visit had gone all out to ensure that their guests had an amazing time. Kate Spade’s ice cream sundaes and Oasis’ bespoke headband creations were two particular highlights, along with the most sought-after item of the evening, the free Mulberry tote bag (which I did manage to procure after much queueing and the tiniest bit of polite jostling).
We topped off our night with a trip to The Diner for Californian burgers (cheese, guacamole, spicy relish) and chilli cheese fries – the epitome of fashionable eating.
